The issue that inspired this cartoon is the war that the U.S. and Britain have been fighting. The people and objects in the picture are an army soldier, oil wells, and the word crude bleeding oil. There are several artistic techniques used in the cartoon, the army man has two different uniforms on, also there's half the U.S. flag and half the British flag and the army soldier is sitting on top of the oil wells. Three things that i can infer from the picture is they are fighting together for oil, Reality is crude. The man is losing his life over oil. The message in the cartoon is there's a fight between countries for oil. People that would agree with this message are army soldiers. People that would disagree is Iraq. The artist's point of view is against the war because the artist let the people know that it's a crude world. Yes the picture is persuasive because it explains the struggle that the soldiers are going threw.
